Omega welcomes Bill Mueller, Grammy and TEC Award Nominee, to the Omega Family
Bill Mueller joined the staff at Omega Recording Studios last week as a full-time audio engineer and audio engineering school instructor for the Audio Engineering School. Bill has been an audio/video engineer since the early 1970’s, has a Grammy nomination, a TEC Award nomination, nominations for a variety of other music awards, and has worked for over 150 major artists.
Bill shares some insight into his audio engineering career:
“I was a roadie for Heil Sound in the early 70’s, and a music engineer for Flite Three Recordings in Baltimore. I was the chief engineer at Sheffield Recordings for 25 years. My specialty has always been live rock recordings, living on the edge at festivals with a large number of channels to balance. I have been instrumental in the design or modification of a half dozen recording studios and sound stages as well as three remote recording trucks. I began teaching audio engineering in 1974 and taught many of the best engineers in the Baltimore/Washington area. I wrote the curriculum for the Sheffield Institute for the Recording Arts and testified before the Maryland Higher Education Commission to secure a license for the school.
“I have been an advocate for brain injured children since 1984. In 1994 I created the first disc based system to help children on the autism spectrum learn to cope with sensory integration issues. In 2007 I created the first directly therapeutic video games for autistic children. In November 2009, my company Vision Audio, released the latest game for children on the autism spectrum, EASe Funhouse Treasure Hunt. My Vision Integration Systems team and I have designed SE&I (systems engineering and integration) software for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. This software is called SimCx. NASA used SimCx to integrate the Constellation Moon and Mars, Ares I, Ares V and Orion vehicle systems. We have also designed software for Booz Allen Hamilton supporting their work with JPDO on the FAA Next Gen air traffic control system. I have signed software development contracts with Raytheon, QSS, GTSI and Booz Allen Hamilton. I have signed space act agreements with NASA. I have served as a Master Control engineer for National Public Radio and own Vision Audio Inc., a company developing cutting edge technology to treat brain injured children afflicted with sensory processing disorder. I have five great sons. My wife Joanne and I home schooled our four sons and they all entered college at a young age. My son Adam has received his P.h.D. from UVA, has completed medical school and is in rotations to complete his M.D. My son Noel is an artist and music producer who owns an up and coming Metal label. My son Shane is a keyboardist and young businessman, while my youngest son Conor is a dedicated singer/songwriter who has been on American Idol twice.”
