COVID-19 Update

Update on COVID-19 and
Resumption of Classes

The Maryland Higher Education Commission has instructed private career schools, including the Omega Studios’ School, to suspend face-to-face instruction for the same period of time that Governor Larry Hogan has directed the closing of Maryland’s public schools. On Wednesday, March 25, Governor Hogan extended the closing of Maryland Schools through April 24. Consequently, live classes at Omega will remain suspended until then.

Assuming there is no extension of the closures, we tentatively plan to resume live classes on MONDAY, APRIL 27.

Our records show that there was high absenteeism from March 11-17. In fairness to all students, especially those who were concerned about COVID-19, the school will re-teach the classes originally scheduled for that time using on-line instruction. These classes will be offered two weeks before the resumption of live classes and give every student the ability to be current in attendance when we resume.

In addition, we believe that, because of this extended break from regular classes, students would benefit from refresher classes. Consequently, one week before the resumption of live classes, Omega will offer on-line review classes in each course which was active as of the day classes were suspended.

These on-line classes will be live and interactive, and can be accessed by any computer with on-line access, or by any smart cellular phone. Any student who does not have either a computer or a cellular phone should contact Director of Administration Adam Stamper at adam@omegastudios.com.

Again, we urge all students and faculty to use best practices to protect themselves from COVID-19, and will be both healthy and motivated when they return to school.

Sincerely,

THE OMEGA STUDIOS’ SCHOOL
